Please be aware that effective Tuesday, May 11 at 5AM our Emergency Department walk up entrance will be located at the hospital’s Washington Ave entrance. Emergency walk up patients will have the option of valet parking by proceeding to the valet booth or self-park their vehicle upon entering the parking lot. Outpatients entering at this location will be required to self-park their vehicle and enter through the designated entrance.
Closure of One Healthy Way/No Access to Front of Hospital from Merrick Rd
Posted: July 2020
What’s Happening:
Continued site work and construction of the new Central Utility Plant (CUP) will require changes in our parking and traffic patterns. We apologize for the inconvenience. We appreciate your cooperation and patience to make our parking plan work well for all and limit disruption to our patients and visitors.
Beginning Friday, July 31, 2020, One Healthy Way will be closed to all thru traffic. You may only access Healthy Way if you are self-parking in the visitors’ lot. There will be no vehicular access to the front door of the hospital from Merrick Rd. All vehicles utilizing the hospital’s valet service or dropping off a visitor must enter through Oceanside Rd and go east on to Oswald Ct.
Please use the new temporary pedestrian walkway on the southeast corner of Lot 3 to enter the hospital. You will not be able to use Healthy Way as a pedestrian walkway.
During Construction of Central Utility Plant (CUP) and Southwest Addition (J-Wing)
Posted: January 2020
What’s Happening:
Due to construction, there will be major changes on the hospital’s Oceanside campus in the coming months that will significantly impact where patients and visitors can park.
A significant part of Parking Lot 1 (physician lot) will be needed for a new power plant. The new, $90 million plant, known as the Central Utility Plant (CUP), will replace the hospital’s current aging power plant, harden the hospital’s infrastructure against future storms, make our power use cleaner and more efficient and provide the extra power required for a planned, four-story Southwest Addition (J-Wing).
Beginning November 11, 2019, Parking Systems, a professional parking company, will begin management of parking on the hospital’s main campus in order to maximize the reduced number of parking spaces available due to the construction.
The parking plan will change over time due to the construction schedule. Here are the changes you should anticipate in the near future:
-
Valet services will continue to be offered at the front of the hospital at a slightly increased cost of $8 per car. Parking Systems provides expedited service through ElimiWait, a web-based, paperless ticketing service so you can text ahead to retrieve your car. Valet services will now be offered at expanded hours from 6:00am-8:00pm Monday through Friday and 8:00am-6:00pm on weekends. If you leave after this time, your keys will be left at the Information Desk in the main lobby.
- Self-Park - If you choose to self-park, Lots 2 & 5 are for patients and visitors only. Parking Systems staff will be available at these lots to assist you. Expected start date 1/15/20.
- ED Entrance - Emergency Department patients and visitors will have a valet attendant to park their cars at no cost. Expected start date 12/2/19.
If you have any questions about this parking plan please regularly refer to this website. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
