Quality in Cancer Care at Mount Sinai South Nassau

Every member of our staff in the cancer program at South Nassau is committed to bringing our patients the most advanced, high-quality care available. And we’ve been honored for several years by earning the Commission on Cancer’s Outstanding Achievement Award, given by the American College of Surgeons.

Below are some of the other honors, accreditations and activities that demonstrate our commitment to our patients:

• Accreditation as a Comprehensive Community Hospital Cancer Program, by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer (CoC)

• Enrolled in the CoC’s Rapid Quality Reporting System, a quality improvement tool
  
• Our Breast Health Program is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers

• Radiation oncology suites are accredited by the American College of Radiation, at both at Mount Sinai South Nassau, in Oceanside, and at the Gertrude & Louis Feil Cancer Center, in Valley Stream

• Recognition for complete and timely reporting to the Cancer Registry (a database used in research and treatment), by the New York State Department of Health
