Cancer diagnosis and treatment are the strong focus of the women’s care specialists at Mount Sinai South Nassau. Our staff includes a range of dedicated physicians and surgeons with board certification in obstetrics and gynecology. These include one of the area’s finest gynecologic surgeons, based at Valley Stream Cancer Center, who is among a limited number of physicians in the region who are board-certified in the subspecialty of gynecologic oncology, or cancer of women’s reproductive system.

Our comprehensive services include state-of-the-art diagnostic tests and therapies. Our team works closely with a range of cancer experts to offer advanced radiation, chemotherapy and surgery. Whenever possible, we use “laparoscopic” techniques that require only small incisions, and result in faster recovery. Our surgeons are also highly experienced in using computer-guided (or robotic) techniques that give us greater precision than possible by the human hand alone.
