Surgical Oncologist, Program Director of Surgery

Greetings. Welcome to the General Surgery residency at South Nassau Community Hospital.  Our goal is to train competent and confident general surgeons who are prepared for practice in general surgery in the real world.  We do so according to the guidelines put forth by the American College of Surgeons and ACGME.

We are excited as we have recently created our own program having trained other surgical residents at our hospital for decades.  We have incorporated a robust simulation program involving general simulation, robotic simulation and cadaveric simulation as well as everything required by the American Board of Surgery (FEC &FLS).

The large amount of bread and butter General Surgery cases at South Nassau allow us to give plenty of exposure to our trainees.  You will be exposed to simple and complex cases in all of the sub-specialties and engage in a robust didactic schedule.

Ultimately we invite you to share our passion for the field of Surgery and despite where you ultimately receive your training, you get out of it exactly what you put into it.  Good luck to you.

Sincerely,

Eric David Seitelman, MD, FACS
