Compassionate Care
"I wish to offer my most sincere thanks and convey my appreciation for the nursing care I received and observed during a recent four-day stay in unit G2. While I was perfectly mobile and able to care for most of my own non-medical needs, my roommate was an older man and was completely bedridden. Your nurses and PCTs (patient care technicians) showed him a level of careful, compassionate and dignified care that I can only hope I would receive were I to one day require it. I commend you on cultivating such a caring culture at a time when we all too often hear of horror stories involving the elderly and bedridden. While I certainly hope I do not require your services at any further point, I would not hesitate to return to South Nassau were it necessary. I thank you again for the level of care shown to me, and more importantly to my roommate, during this past week."

" Last week I celebrated my 74th birthday. To a large extent, I owe the most recent three to the care and people of South Nassau. One hot summer years ago, I experienced a heart attack that brought me to the emergency room of South Nassau. The care I received from Dr. Jason Freeman and other members of your staff did more than save my life. They enriched it. The professionalism and the unstinting care for others that I saw motivated me to volunteer. And the days I now spend at Mount Sinai South Nassau in that role are among the most rewarding of each week. No Better Care Anywhere
“In February of this year, my husband was diagnosed with gastroesophageal cancer. Needless to say, we were overwhelmed. I was directed to Dr. Datta and Dr. Andaz. by Dr. Nisha Sethi. She told me I couldn't get better care anywhere than with these two physicians. We can't begin to express our gratefulness to Dr. Datta and Dr. Andaz. Their surgical skills are beyond reproach. To know that these two physicians are in our community has made this long and arduous journey much easier to bear. Every time I hear their names mentioned on the radio, I smile to myself, ‘thinking you're not kidding.’ They are the best, and they're right here in Nassau County.”
