Mount Sinai South Nassau Wound Care

Don’t Put Your Health On Hold

We were here for you before COVID, and we’re here for you now. Don’t put off seeking medical care, including elective surgery, in fear of COVID-19. Mount Sinai South Nassau now has dedicated non-COVID patient care areas, including within our Emergency Department. All of our units have undergone a deep cleaning to ensure our patients’ safety, and all patients undergoing procedures are tested for COVID-19 within five days prior to admission. Learn how Mount Sinai South Nassau is keeping our patients safe.

The Wound Care Center

Whether you’ve had a wound for a short period of time or wounds that recur over time, open wounds can interfere with work, school and other activities you want and need to do. The wound care experts at Mount Sinai South Nassau understand this. We’re experts in wound care and healing. And we are dedicated to caring for you as a whole person, keeping your goals in mind.

Our patients enjoy the success of our team approach to care, all during outpatient visits. Results include decreased pain, greater flexibility and movement, and higher quality of life. We have a cure rate of 93 percent — well above the national average. And our Wound Care Center has earned certification from The Joint Commission, a national health care quality organization, which attests to our strong commitment to excellence for everyone we serve.

Our experts use the latest tools and techniques available in wound care and repair. And our team works closely with each patient and family, so you have the information you need to take a leading role in your own recovery.

A Team Approach

The experts at the Wound Care Center include physicians, registered nurses, physical therapists, nutrition consultants, pharmacists, pain management experts and home care providers. Some wounds heal slowly or are even caused by other health conditions, such as poor blood circulation. So part of your treatment team might include other specialists, to ensure sure any other medical condition is being treated along with our focus on the wound.

Our goal is to restore patients to as active a lifestyle as possible, as quickly as possible.
