Dr. Gress is the medical director of The Center for Interventional Endoscopy at South Nassau Communities Hospital. He also serves as the lead for therapeutic endoscopy for Mount Sinai in Long Island and has an appointment as Senior Faculty in the Division of Gastroenterology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the pancreas and bile ducts, GI malignancies including colon and pancreatic cancer, pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts, gallstones, and Barrett’s Esophagus and removal of large polyps and early cancers. He has made significant contributions to the field of therapeutic endoscopy.

He completed his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY. Dr.Gress completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, NY. He completed two fellowships, one in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY and another in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Training at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in Indianapolis, IN.

Prior to joining South Nassau, Dr. Gress was Clinical Chief of the Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases, Chief of Endoscopy and Interventional Endoscopy, an attending physician and a Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY. He was also an attending physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY.
