Biography
Xavier P. J. Gaudin, D.O. is a dual-trained neurosurgeon with special expertise in minimally invasive and complex spinal surgery. He treats a full spectrum of brain, spine and peripheral nerve conditions, including scoliosis and spinal deformity, degenerative disorders, revision surgery, trauma, tumors, and infections. His skill set includes both open and endoscopic surgical care of brain tumors, including meningioma and pituitary tumors, as well as trigeminal neuralgia, Chiari malformations, craniocervical disorders, carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve neuropathies.
Dr. Gaudin attended Illinois State University for his undergraduate studies, where he graduated magna cum laude and was on the Dean’s List. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pikeville-Kentucky, and graduated in the top ten percent of his class. Dr. Gaudin then completed his internship and residency in neurological surgery at Ohio University COM/Grant Medical Center and Riverside Methodist Hospital where he was appointed Chief Resident and clinical instructor. He received additional subspecialty training in minimally invasive, complex spinal deformity and scoliosis surgery at The Orthopedic Foundation in Ohio.
Dr. Gaudin is actively involved in academics and research. He has won prizes at the 2017 Annual Clinical Assembly in National Harbor, MA; had research published by The Journal of Neurological Surgery, and authored a book chapter on lumbar stenosis. Dr. Gaudin is fluent in French.
