Freestanding Emergency Department at Long Beach
Long Island's First Freestanding Emergency Department
Mount Sinai South Nassau is committed to serving the health care needs of the Long Beach community. Our 24/7 freestanding Emergency Department (ED) has the same features as a traditional ED, with the exception being that it is not located on the Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital campus. Our freestanding Emergency Department is open to the public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for the treatment of urgent and emergent medical conditions and is staffed with the same certified emergency nurses and physicians board-certified in emergency medicine as in Mount Sinai South Nassau’s hospital-based emergency room.
Any patients who require continued hospital care or admission to the main hospital will be transferred to our main campus via a Mount Sinai South Nassau ambulance that is on-site 24/7.
No Appointment Necessary
Services are available daily, on a walk-in and emergency basis. This freestanding emergency department is a 911-receiving facility and will treat all urgent and emergency medical conditions. Under existing Department of Health protocol, certain heart attack, stroke and other life-threatening cases may be diverted to the appropriate hospital, including Mount Sinai South Nassau, which is a Level II Trauma Center.
Advantages of Our Services
