Dr. Maurer is is the Trauma Medical Director at Mount Sinai South Nassau and is board certified in General Surgery. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed residency training in Surgery and his Surgical Critical Care and Trauma fellowships at SUNY Stony Brook.

The Mount Sinai South Nassau Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery located in Oceanside, provides exceptional care for adults and is designed to respond to emergencies 24/7, with fully equipped state-of-the-art trauma bays, operating rooms and critical care units. The Mount Sinai South Nassau Trauma Center is designated a Level II Trauma Center by the State of New York and is nationally verified as a Level II Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons. This means that our Trauma Program meets the highest achievable standards for trauma care. It is the only trauma center located on the South Shore of Nassau County.
