Hospital is Moving Forward with Expansion Plans at its Oceanside Campus

Hospital is moving forward with expansion plans at its Oceanside campus. The improvements include a proposed expansion of our Emergency Department, new operating suites and 40 new critical care beds. The plan also provides for a new parking structure and a new utility plant so the hospital can be better prepared to continue operations during events like Superstorm Sandy. The proposal will benefit some 900,000 residents in the Southern tier of Nassau County.
In accordance with the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), South Nassau has submitted a voluntary Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) to the Town of Hempstead for the hospital’s proposed expansion.
The voluntary DEIS can be found at the Town of Hempstead Zoning Board of Appeals.
