APRN Transition into Practice Program
Mount Sinai South Nassau offers a standardized onboarding for all new graduate Advanced Practice Nurses (APRNs).
Advanced practice RNs are a vital member of our healthcare system, providing comprehensive care to complex patients in the primary and acute care settings. MSSN’s training runs for 3 months and is designed to facilitate the transition of advanced practice providers from academia to patient care. New APRNs gradually transition into autonomous practice after the first 3 months. Key components of the program include experiential learning, preceptorship, interprofessional training, networking with peers, and professional socialization.
