Biography

Anke Ott Young, MD, PhD is a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 20 years of specialized experience in breast reconstruction procedures. Born in Germany, Dr. Ott began her journey to medicine at the University of the Saarland in Homburg where she graduated in 1990. From there she earned a doctorate degree with Magna Cum Laude accolades in Forensic Psychiatry before eventually continuing her education in New York. Dr. Ott received her General Surgery training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, completed her Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at Nassau County Medical Center, and underwent a Microsurgery and Cancer Reconstruction Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She then added an oncoplastic fellowship with Prof Werner Audretsch in Germany to her training in breast reconstruction. Previous to joining New York Plastic Surgical Group in 2022, Dr. Ott owned and operated her own successful plastic surgery practice where she offered patients a full range of advanced breast, face, and body procedures including body sculpting and reconstruction post bariatric surgery. In addition to these offerings, Dr. Ott remains dedicated to her work as a breast cancer reconstruction specialist. Some of these techniques include oncoplastic approaches to breast conservation therapies, new single staged immediate prepectoral implant mastectomy reconstructions, and a full spectrum of traditional autologous breast reconstructions including free tissue transfer and DIEP flaps. She specializes in autologous fat transfer for mastectomy reconstruction as well as in the repair of difficult reconstructive cases.
