Rajeev Vohra, MD Rajeev Vohra, MD
Chief, Bariatrics
Rajeev Vohra, MD is Director of Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at South Nassau's Center for Weight and Life Management. He completed his medical education in India and his postdoctoral training at New York University Medical Center. He has also served as Assistant Professor in Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Vohra is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgeons.
Gregory Nishimura, MD Gregory Nishimura, MD
Dr. Nishimura attended medical school at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. Additionally, Dr. Nishimura completed his surgical residency at Nassau County Medical Center and is a board certified laparoscopic surgeon. Dr. Nishimura performs the lap-band, Roux-en-y surgeries, sleeve gastrectomies and other laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Nishimura is a member of American Society of Bariatric Physicians, American Obesity Association and Obesity Action Coalition.
Sameera Khan, Bariatric Clinical Coordinator Sameera Khan, RPA-C, RD
Bariatric Clinical Coordinator

For over 10 years, Sameera was a dietician at North Shore/LIJ hospital and continued her career as a Physicians Assistant within the urology field. Sameera is the Bariatric Clinical Coordinator for our program. As Coordinator, Sameera is involved with your final test reviews, an advisor and helps patients with their clinical pathway to surgery. Sameera runs our Bariatric Support Groups, handles patient follow ups and lapband adjustments. She is an important member of our team throughout your weight loss journey. Sameera is a graduate of CW Post with a nutritional degree, and received her RPA from Touro College.
Gabe Bechinelli, PA Gabe Bechinelli, PA
Mr. Bechinelli has extensive experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant. He has been with South Nassau Communities Hospital since 2005 and is one of the most experienced PAs nationwide with LAP-BANDĀ® adjustments and follow-ups. He is a graduate of St. John's University.
Danielle Solomon RD, CDE Danielle Solomon RD, CDE
Ms. Solomon has been a registered dietician since 1992. She has specialized with bariatric weight loss management including the OptiFastĀ® program. Since 2001, she has worked with our bariatric patients, helping them along their weight loss surgery journey from the moment they arrive at our offices and throughout their journey helping them keep on track. She is a graduate of CW Post College with a BS degree in nutrition, and she interned at Cornell Medical Center.
