Biography
Dr. Russo is the Director of Palliative Care at Mount Sinai South Nassau. Prior to joining Mount Sinai South Nassau, she served for 17 years as the Section Head of Inpatient Oncology and Site Director of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Long Island Jewish Hospital (now Northwell Health). After serving at Long Island Jewish, she joined the faculty at Veterans Affairs Medical Center as its Palliative Care Director.
Dr. Russo earned a medical degree from the Universidad del Noreste in Tampico, Mexico, and completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Cabrini Medical Center and Winthrop-University Hospital (now NYU-Winthrop), respectively. She was also fellowship-trained in Hematology/Oncology at University Hospital at Stony Brook and is board certified in Palliative Care, Hematology, Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine.
