Wantagh Medical Office Building

Wantagh Medical Office Building

What’s Happening Here:

Project Overview
To meet the need for convenient primary care and specialty health care services in eastern Nassau County, including Wantagh, Seaford and the Massapequas, South Nassau Communities Hospital is planning to renovate this 60,000-square foot building to a state-of-the-art, multi specialty healthcare center.

Community Benefits
Services
South Nassau’s vision for this facility is to provide patient-centered, quality healthcare through an integrated  network of specialty practices. It will not only improve access to care for the residents of the South Shore, but will also help to elevate the standard of care, and improve patient outcomes, by facilitating care coordination across disciplines. Proposed medical services may include:

  • Primary Care
  • Children’s Services
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Cardiology
  • Diabetes and Weight Management
  • and More

Economic Benefit
The strategic location will make this facility a source of job creation and a driver of economic activity in the region. We propose to create dozens of new jobs.

Project Details
In the spring of 2016, South Nassau Communities Hospital purchased this 60,000-square foot former Verizon building on west side of Wantagh Avenue, just south of Sunrise Highway, with the intention of developing a state-of-the-art multi-specialty healthcare center featuring a patient-centered design and a visually appealing exterior to compliment and enhance the aesthetics of the Wantagh business district. The first phase of the renovated Medical Office building is scheduled to open in early 2018.

Parking
South Nassau always strives to be sensitive to its neighboring communities. We understand the concerns you may have with how the renovation and repurposing of this facility could impact parking. This site currently has space for 242 cars, which will provide our patients and staff with sufficient parking that will meet or exceed code requirements. We recognize that this is an important issue for the neighborhoods surrounding this facility, and are committed to listening to your concerns…and acting to address any issues that might arise.
