Level II NICU: For Mother and Baby Who Need Highly Specialized Care
If your baby is premature or you have a high-risk pregnancy, you can rely on the experienced, dedicated staff of South Nassau Communities Hospital’s Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). And if your newborn has unexpected health issues at birth, our NICU experts will join your health care team seamlessly — to provide expert care, comfort and information to you and your family.
Our medical staff includes physicians who are board-certified in neonatology, a subspecialty of pediatrics that focuses on newborns who have complex health conditions. Our team also includes physicians who are board-certified in maternal-fetal medicine, the care of both mother and child during pregnancy and delivery. In addition, our registered nurses are highly trained in intensive care of newborns.
Technology in the NICU nursery ensures intensive one-to-one care and features a state-of-the-art monitoring system. It’s equipped with advanced equipment designed especially for premature babies and other newborns with special needs.
From our staff to our facilities, our NICU offers some of the most advanced care available for our littlest patients.
