Child and Family Life Program

The Child & Family Life Program symbolizes South Nassau Hospital’s continued effort to serve our community, facilitate emotional adjustments & promote the health & well-being of children & their families.

Hospital experiences by nature are stressful & may be traumatic. Therefore it is our mission to protect & enhance the social, cognitive & emotional integrity of children & families undergoing anxiety related to illness, injury & hospitalization.

We seek to minimize the negative impact of situational disruptions while maintaining individual growth & development & family relationships.

We provide a safe & non-threatening environment for children & families to express themselves.

For information about Child and Family Life services, please contact Kerri Wagner, Child and Family Life Specialist, at (516)-632-4779 / (516) 632-3951.

We help children & families navigate the emotionally challenging process of coping with hospital experiences & minimize psychological trauma.

We allow patients to be children first, while focusing on normal patterns of living & promoting their optimal growth & development.

We continuously strive to provide the highest quality of care as collaborators in the best interests of the child.
