    Laura Carinci, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. Laura Carinci, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
    Gynecologist
    Dr. Laura Carinci has been practicing gynecology at South Nassau Primary Care since 2002. After graduating from Adelphi University in 1982 with a B.S. degree in Biology, Dr. Carinci received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1986. Her residency training began initially at then Nassau County Medical Center, East Meadow, N.Y, and was completed at Beth Israel Medical Center, N.Y. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology. From 1990 until 2002, Dr. Carinci was in private practice, providing comprehensive services in both obstetrics and gynecology in Rockville Centre, N.Y. In 2005, she completed her certification with The North American Menopause Society and became a certified menopause practitioner. Dr. Carinci maintains a particular interest in botanical medicine and nutrition.
    Gina Day, MD Gina Day, M.D.
    Cardiologist
    Dr. Day joined South Nassau in 2009. She earned her B.S. degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She received her MD from SUNY Upstate University Medical Center, Syracuse, and completed her internship and residency with Winthrop University Hospital. She did her fellowship training in cardiology at North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System. Prior to joining South Nassau, Dr. Day was the director of Cardiology at North Shore Forest Hills Hospital and then in private practice in Baldwin, NY. She is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology and nuclear cardiology.
    Carolyne McHyman, D.O. Carolyne McHyman, D.O.
    Primary Care Physician
    Dr. Carolyne McHyman is a board-certified Family Practice physician who joined South Nassau Primary Medical Care in 2008. Dr. McHyman earned her B.S. from Tulane University and received her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency training at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center and subsequently practiced in New York City. She relocated to Florida and was the Medical Director of the Broward Community & Family Health Center for a number of years before returning to Long Island.
    Margarita Mercado-Medina, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. Margarita Mercado-Medina, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
    Obstetrics & Gynecology
    Dr. Mercado-Medina joined South Nassau in 2013. She obtained her M.D. from the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Dr. Mercado-Medina completed her residency at Winthrop-University Hospital after an intern year at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Prior to joining South Nassau, she was an attending physician and assistant clinical professor of Columbia University Medical Center/Allen Hospital, a division of New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Dr. Mercado-Medina is board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and is fluent in Spanish.
    Audrey Paulssen-Soranno Audrey Paulssen-Soranno, D.O.
    Primary Care Physician
    Dr. Audrey Paulssen-Soranno joined the staff of South Nassau Primary Medical Care in 2008 with twenty years experience in Internal Medicine. Dr. Paulssen-Soranno earned her B.S. degree from Adelphi University and received her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed an internship for one year at Penninsula General Hospital, followed by a three year residency program studying Internal Medicine at Nassau County Medical Center. Dr. Paulssen-Soranno is board-certified in Internal Medicine.
    Christine McRae, RPA-C Christine McRae, RPA-C
    Physician Assistant, Primary Care
    Ms. McRae joined the staff of South Nassau Primary Medical Care in 2001. She earned her B.S. degree, cum laude, from St. John's University, and is a graduate of St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center's Physician Assistant Program. As a Physician Assistant at South Nassau Primary Medical Care, Ms. McRae practices primary care, gynecology, internal medicine and specializes in adolescent medicine. Ms. McRae is board-certified by The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
    Rajeev Vohra, MD Rajeev Vohra, M.D.
    Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgeon
    Dr. Vohra is Director of Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at South Nassau's Center for Weight and Life Management. He completed his medical education in India and his postdoctoral training at New York University Medical Center. He has also served as Assistant Professor in Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Vohra is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgeons.
