Employee of the Quarter - 1Q 2014

Quarterly, all employees are eligible for nomination for their outstanding performance &/or contributions to their unit, the dept, &/or the hospital. Of the 4 winners selected during the calendar year, seen below are the "Nursing" employees who have won to date.

The winner of South Nassau Communities Hospital's "Employee of the Quarter" for the 1st Quarter of 2014 is:

Eileen Harris, R.N.

Job Title: Registered Nurse, D-2E Cardiac

Eileen is that nurse that everyone turns to for support and encouragement. She is the backbone of the unit and has been described as the "Heart of D2East". When you are in her presence she has a way of making you feel welcomed and supported. Eileen has been a preceptor and mentor, her orientees have raved about the experience they have with her. SNI student remember her, request her and cherish their experience with her. Eileen is that nurse that listens and finds out the story behind the angry patient and turns the patient's entire experience around. Last year Eileen served the community by participating in the "Shining Stars" team of D2East staff for the SNCH breast cancer run/walk. The unit is also very proud of Eileen for being awarded the SNCH Excellence in Nursing Practice Award as well as being nominated for the Nursing Spectrum GEM Award in Nursing Practice. Eileen is the person that always makes sure everyone is taken care of and acknowledged. Now it is her turn to be acknowledged for all she does for the unit, her patients, her co-workers, orientees and community.
