South Nassau Named to List of 100 Best Healthcare Providers to Work For
Becker's Hospital Review has named South Nassau Communities Hospital to its 2011 list of the "100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare" in the United States.
South Nassau was selected for its demonstrated excellence in providing a work environment that promotes teamwork, professional development and quality patient care. The list was developed through nominations, research and a rigorous review with peer organizations and is composed of hospitals, health systems, surgery centers and large physician practices. Becker's Hospital Review is a bimonthly magazine published by ASC Communications located in Chicago, Ill. The magazine is read by many of the nation’s leading healthcare executives and policy makers.
This is the third significant media honor that South Nassau has received this year. Previously, South Nassau was voted the Best Hospital on Long Island by readers of The Long Island Press and the U.S. News & World Report's first-ever Best Hospitals metro area rankings ranked South Nassau thirty-fifth among all hospitals in the New York metropolitan area, which includes hospitals based in New York City, Long Island, Westchester County, and northern New Jersey.
"At South Nassau Communities Hospital we understand that each member of our team is vital to the overall patient and visitor experience we provide," said Joseph Quagliata, South Nassau's president and CEO. “We understand that a supportive, encouraging, rewarding and collaborative workplace environment is essential to fulfilling South Nassau’s mission to meet the community’s need for standard-setting, advanced healthcare services wherever and whenever they are needed.”
