Friday, May 2, 2008 Annual Goods & Services Auction Carltun on the Park, Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, NY Contact Jillian DiGiacomo at (516) 377-5360 The Annual Goods, Services & Vacation Auction is hosted by The Council to South Nassau, a volunteer membership organization whose overall mission is to promote awareness of, and provide financial support for, hospital programs and services. This annual event is attended by nearly 400 community residents, hospital administrators and staff. Over 300 items are up for bid at this year's Auction. Proceeds from the event benefit SIBSPlace, a free support program for the siblings of children with cancer and other devastating illnesses. Play is held at the spectacular and award-winning Seawane Country Club in Hewlett, and at Rockaway Hunting Club, the nation’s oldest country club and whose 9th hole is regarded as one of the 100 best in America. The day's events include "Shotgun Start" rounds of golf capped by an awards dinner. September 2008 5K Breast Cancer Run/Walk & Multi-Cultural Health Fair South Nassau Hospital Parking Lot, Oceanside, NY Contact Jillian DiGiacomo at (516) 377-5360 The 5K Breast Cancer Run/Walk is an annual event, attracting more than 1,000 participants, that benefits South Nassau's Breast/GYN Health Center. A free multi-cultural health fair follows the Run/Walk featuring tables representing various services of the hospital and health care.
