South Nassau Communities Hospital
Established in 1928, our hospital is one of the region’s largest hospitals with 435 beds, more than 750 physicians, and 2,200 employees.
We have nearly 22,000 admissions per year. We are the only South Shore hospital offering 24-hour, life-saving emergent angioplasty and are a Level II Trauma Center, with over 55,000 ER visits yearly. We also installed the first Gamma-knife on Long Island, allowing for minimally-invasive surgical treatment of otherwise inaccessible or inoperable brain tumors.
Our hospital also serves as a Stroke Center for Long Island, NY. A few of the medical services we offer include palliative care, dialysis, uterine fibroid embolization, sleep center, wound care, behavioral health, and many more. We are also one of the first South Shore hospitals who offer da Vinci Robotic surgery and we are continuously expanding our campus. Although our hospital is big, we retain the cozy atmosphere of a big family in a small community hospital.
