Joanne Barkley
Mrs. Joanne Corley-Barkley has been our Residency Coordinator since 2000, beginning her South Nassau career as a temporary replacement office worker. A mother of 8, she has unsurpassed organizational skills and keeps the complexities of running the Program intelligible for everyone else. Joanne studied theater at Morgan State University in Baltimore and enjoys decorating, painting, gardening, and reading.
Pollymae Strodder-Holdson
Pollymae Strodder-Holdson studied liberal arts at CUNY's Queens College, Flushing, before beginning her career in medical administration. She worked at Mercy Medical Center in nearby Rockville Centre and Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York before assuming the responsibilities as Executive Secretary to the Chairman and Administrative Director seven years ago. A mother of four daughters, Mrs. Strodder-Holdson enjoys sketching and drawing and is a skilled hair stylist for her friends and neighbors.
Althea Williams, MBA, CPC
Althea Williams is the Administrative Director for the Family Medicine Residency Program, the Family Medicine Center which provides outpatient services to our underserved and the hospital's Employee Health Department and Prenatal Care Program. She oversees the Family Medicine departmental operations with responsibility for fiscal and administrative management. She also develops administrative policies and procedures for the Department and focuses on promoting collaborative relationships with community agencies and vendors. Mrs. Williams joined our department in 2004. She has received several community awards including the 2007 Town of Hempstead's Health Sciences Pathfinder Award. She is a graduate of St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, New York, where she was also awarded her MBA degree. Her memberships include the Association of Family Medicine Administration and the American Academy of Professional Coders.
Silvia Johns, RN
Silvia Johns, RN completed the Associate's program in nursing at Nassau Community College and is now completing her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at Molloy College, Rockville Centre. Since her graduation from Nassau 13 years ago, Mrs. Johns has been on the front lines of ambulatory nursing in our office where she is now the Assistant Nurse Manager. As a bilingual nurse, she seeks to make all patients and their families feel welcome and well-cared for, putting our patients at ease and explaining procedures and guiding them through the various referral processes. She has a husband, two cats, and a daughter who is pursuing a career in ESL teaching.
Gloria Lopez-Marin, RN
Born in Puerto Rico, Gloria Lopez-Marin, RN, was raised in New York City where she completed her undergraduate and nursing degrees at CUNY's Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing. Prior to joining our team at South Nassau, Ms. Lopez-Marin worked as an ambulatory care nurse manager for 27 years at St. Mary's Hospital-Catholic Medical Center, and later, at Lutheran Medical Center. She is patient care coordinator for the Family Medicine Center and assists in our implementation of the Patient Centered Medical Home standards. She expertly works with the clinical practice team, supporting patients throughout the often-complicated referral process and transitions of care.
Precillia Fairman, FNP-BC
A native of Jamaica, West Indies, Precillia Fairman, FNP-BC, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, Riverdale, and her Masters of Science in Nursing at Pace University, New York. Ms. Fairman is board certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Family Health. Before coming to us, she worked in the Emergency Department at Beth Israel Medical Center in Brooklyn and at Hempstead Main Medical Center, Hempstead as a designated Women's Health Provider. Ms. Fairman plays a vital role in providing continuity of care to our office and often provides clinical backup support to our residents. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Pace University, New York.
Monica Wagner
Monica Wagner is the Business Office Manager of the Family Medicine, the Family Medicine Center, Employee Health Services, and Prenatal Program. She works with the Administrative Director to oversee the daily operations and helps to coordinate the scheduling of doctors, staff and patients. She previously worked in an ambulatory surgery setting - in a nursing capacity and managed the medical office operations. She is a graduate of Molloy College, Rockville Center, NY where she was awarded a B.S. in Health Service Leadership.
