Assisted Living Center Residents Donate Handmade Items to Cancer Patients

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the "Knit Wits," a sewing club at the Atria Tanglewood Senior Living in Lynbrook, knitted and crocheted more than 40 scarves and hats for patients undergoing cancer treatment at South Nassau. Before the presentation, George Autz, M.D., medical director of Complete Women's Imaging at South Nassau, discussed the importance of breast cancer screening.
